As per request of Michelle I am inclined to do two things.
First is this thread on a magic that the angels used.

This is going to be about advanced uses and historical details of the spell in the thread above.
This energy was first used by the Angels after the Fall but before the first Angelic War and was developed as a tool to hunt the Corrupted and Fallen. In their plain the energy is so thick compered to the normal matter that it can act as armor strong enough to deflect weapons. The downside is while its not as hot as normal fire it still heats you up. That's why you must be careful how quickly you turn it off and on and also how long you have it activated.
It will accept several commands like constructs but its more limited then normal energy. You can for example tell it to consume a persons or things energy, or set it to act as an energetic Flash bang.
It acts as a very good energetic weapon, as it eats through most defenses, and in the same way it make a good defense.
Its high density allows it to quickly dissolve making it unable to be tracked.
It also uses your deeper energy to stay active, so using this wont be taking any of your quickly readiable energy. (also a danger as you can keep using it thinking that you have more energy then you do.)
It was developed as a weapon so uses are a little bit limited to offensive and defensive strategies.
