As this is the first post of this thread, I figure this would be where I would break out this Doozy of a Conversation. Too often I hear tell of creatures known as Elemental Dragons, and cannot help but laugh a little. Dragons that can only use one type of magic because of the specific place they call home, or because of a specific coloration. I live in Canada, and it's REALLY COLD! Does that make me a Water Human? If I lived in Hawaii near the Volcano's, would that make me a Fire Human? How about if I lived in the Rocky Mountains? Or I somehow lived on an airship? Dragons do not have "Elementals" just like we don't.
A dragon is able to access all types of energy, but like humans, it could just be more in tune with a certain type of magic. They also don't choose there homes based on this? Just because they like fire doesn't mean they have to live in a Volcano. They may not live in Water, but it's not like they CAN'T live in water. I understand that I said I am not very good at the magical side of Wicca, but that does not mean I cannot reach out and listen to those who speak to me when I meditate. I have looked foolish on more than one occasion when I have asked a Dragon who has come near enough to me to communicate what Element he or she is. I learned that Dragons could be adept at using ALL the magical energies available, and there are some who don't even know what an element is. Just like people, there are some who have vast magical powers, and others like me who aren't very good at magic in almost any way of the word.
Why do we have this idea of Elemental dragons then? What is it that gave us these Visions that we seem to grip onto with such fever? What is something that we as people have been surrounded by for a long time, even indirectly? Dungeons and Dragons ring any bells? Sure it does! Who HASN'T heard of this game some way or another, and who hasn't seen it's effects on the world? Dragons were not all that special until the Game Dungeons and Dragons came out. Dragons were just these large firebreathing lizards who could fly, until they had to become a game mechanic. Couldn't just have one type of dragon now could we? had to put elements in there to spice things up and slowly but surely, the idea of "Elemental Dragons" was born, and people flocked to it like Zombies to a screaming man who was shot in the knee
I'll do a little more on Types of Dragons in a little bit. Till then, please feel free to ask questions and make comments. I will do what I can to answer any questions you may have ^.^

Are you asking o0ut of curiosity, with actually wanting to communicate with them, or is it about this post? Because that would get into the path, and I am awaiting Sir to make the forum section about the Path of the Dragon. There is quite a bit that goes into it, to such a degree a circle has to be cast and everything. They are actually PART of your Circle when you cast it, but I can go deeper into that in a Private message till such a location is made. I was told that this is about Dragons as actual creatures, and not the Magic you use around them.

My curiousity is toward the way u cominicate like with what language or emotions. Nextly i am curious about the feelings and way u use energy or control your body to meditate. I enjoy learning more about energy and your methods could teach me a great deal.

It is a bit of a conundrum to see them limited like that. I think their domain has to do with intersecting dragon lines myself. If you'd like to elaborate on your communications I'd be interested.

I'd like to say that I think the idea for elemental dragons comes from the dragons breath. Not all breath fire, some breath a poison water material.

This could well and truly become a "Chicken/Egg" argument. Did the "Elemental Dragon" idea spout from "real" dragons, or were they conceived by a table top game and various fantasy novels. We have to remember that whether or not dragons existed as actual creatures is hard to prove or deny. There are so many religious references to them that the idea had to come from somewhere. Hell, the "Great Dragon Leviathan" from the bible is a great indicator, however the ACTUAL image of all these creatures varies from religion to religion. The idea that Dragons were ALWAYS spiritual creatures of another plane would make sense, as otherwise, WHERE DID THEY GO! What happened to them? Did they just vanish? How is it that we can't find remains? Unless you want to go all conspiracy theory, but then why HIDE the existence of dragons? Government worried about a religious group forming around them ((To late )), but of course the Vatican and other such religious organizations would be more worried about that because there followers are why they have so much money. That and the past of the Catholic church and our various OTHER major religions don't exactly have the most welcome greeting to other religions as we have seen. If they were physical, tangible creatures I could more grasp the idea that they had specific elements, however because of the lack of solid evidence of the physical existence, spiritual creatures wouldn't be limited to any one thing, unless they were an Elemental, but even then elementals are just that. They are creatures made up of an element, but not a dragon. An elemental could take the form of a dragon, but it still isn't a dragon. See what I am saying? The idea of a SPIRITUAL creature, whom exists on a totally different plane and have powers that to our minds are totally limitless being stuck in a little box. The ideas they they even do these things that we think they do have to be totally wiped from our minds because they can be easily influenced by our past upbringings. Information could become corrupt, and we wouldn't even realize it. There is also the idea that they are shapeshifters, however that could vary well mean that dragons are ANYTHING, which would further moot the ideals of an elemental dragon. If they wanted too they could become something that we could not take down and be like "You better leave us be or we will eat you" or something along those lines. This visions of a grandeur that we get when we read about the mighty fire breathing dragon, or the wise Eastern Dragon, or any other image of Dragons we have seen in our child hood can easily corrupt the idea of what dragons actually look like or what dragons even are. The more titles we put too them that were given to them by fantasy, the less open our minds are to actually seeing them. When your meditating your supposed to clear your brain, and when trying to communicate with creatures you have to tell your conscious mind to sit in the corner and let the adults do the talking. However, the Conscious mind being that adorable little child that ONLY believes what it sees, still gets in the way, because you can't exactly hire a babysitter for it. Like that Siamese twin your connect to at the hip, but it has the mental capacity of a four year old with a reversed polarity ((Yes yes, children make believe all the time)). It will either ONLY believe what it sees, or it will believe whatever it want too. Most 99.9 percent of people are the former rather than the latter though. It's the logical side of your brain looking at science and history and math and going ALL THIS IS WRONG!!!!! However, because of these past thoughts that it HAS had, if you can train your brain to BELIEVE ((Or tie it up and throw it in a closet till your done)), it will STILL use these images. It will forge the images before your subconscious gets too it, before you even realize it. I'm starting to ramble, but I hope you all get the point

The point of a lot of Graham Hitchcock's work I think his name is. Is to use use ancient cultural depections that could not have had influence on each other to prove that natures and general similarities of creatures like dragons arise. To prove that these inclinations come from the spirit realms and not just the imagination. I'm interested in your communications with dragons. I've communicated with inter dimensional beings of the spirit guide nature and they say that the ego and sense of I is our greatest obstacle in achieving significant moves forward by inhibiting capacity for love and betterment of humanity. What do dragons say? I saw the shadow man overcoat, hat and all during sleep paralysis when I was young before even hearing anything about it or sleep paralysis. So I know these experiences are not always influenced by archetypes from personal experience.

Dragons tend to stay out of the affairs of humans. Obtaining a Draconic Companion which is something you need to properly cast most every Draconic Magic. Well, Draconic Magic moreso being Magic with the assistance and powers of Dragons, but I'll get into that more in the actual forum topic about it.
Dragons can and WILL send you messages in your sleep if you can communicate with them willingly. I had one nasty experince when I woke up at a cadet camp I was an officer for without the use of my arm. Sleep paralysis some would say but the ability to use or feel my arm was gone until I had a seizure later that day. A Draconic Omen was the cause of this, and I have only seen it one other time. To say the least, Dragons are not a force to be trifled with if they are trying to warn you of something.

Dragon slayer type deities. Other than that no they do not Why would something what to kill dragons? Hypothetically speaking here... likely the same reason somebody would want to kill any dangerous animal. Why would anybody want to kill a werewolf.......
