Thought it might be good to add this here. A lot of modification can be done with this idea.
Hello everyone! Today(yesterday) I was reading a book called Tactical Magic by an author known only as "Seth". A while ago--I'd read about this concept; A cube that can draw in energy--usually made of wood. I don't normally have wood lying around, so the moment I had some I made sure to put it to good use.
It's called a witchengine. Used mainly for the purpose of collecting, cleansing, and storing energy--Witchengines are small wood, metal, clay, stone, or otherwise cubes no larger than say 3"x3"x3". A bit like an occult battery, I've been thinking for a while now that the best way I could put this to use is to have it gather and cleanse energy from the area around me and store it for when I need to feed. All of you psychic vampires out there--especially the ones who need to feed a lot--pay attention!
The one I made today was out of an old 1"x1"x1" wooden dice I had from a game. It had a twin--but I lost that one...I created 5 sigils with the following meanings--Gather, Cleanse, Retain, Draw, and Release. The Gather sigil is used to draw in all the ambient energy it can find, while the Cleanse sigil strips away all the negative energy. The retain sigil--at the bottom of the cube [one side at the top I left blank and put a needle in it--to make a sort of makeshift necklace pendant] so that all the energy it gathers won't be lost out the bottom. The Draw sigil is meant as a button--you make contact with the sigil in order to "use" the energy stored in the battery. The final sigil is Release--meant as an vent for all the negative energy it strips away.
Essentially--it works on its own. I may charge it a little every once in a while, and cleanse it manually to make sure it's not holding onto anything. The only thing you really have to do--which can be modified to work on its own as well--is remembering to draw in the energy using the correct symbol when the time comes. If you want it to work as an automatic energy system that you don't have to do anything to--you could change the Draw symbol so that it sends all the energy it draws straight to you. In this case, the Retain sigil wouldn't be needed.
I wear mine as a pendant. You could make one as a chain for a bag, a pair of them for earrings [ooooh...], or you could make several of them and place them somewhere they won't be disturbed.
I just figured this might be something good to mention to those who don't like to draw from people directly--as long as you make it with good intention, I think this'll be something you can use for a good long time.
