with every post you get a point and with every point you get closer to going up in rank. one day if I want to have this as an open forum i might use the ranking system as a way to group people ready for the knowledge, but right now it just looks cool. there are three ranks per tier each a different color star. | Novice | 0 points | Green Star
| 1 | | _____ Apprentice | 1-9, 10-19, 20-34 | Yellow Star | 1-3 | | _____ Adept | 35-69, 70-109, 110-149 | Blue Star | 1-3 | | _____ Expert | 150-199, 200-249, 250-309 | Red Star | 1-3 | | _____ _____ | 310-369, 370-429, 430-499 | Silver Star | 1-3 | | _____ | 500 | Black Star | 1 |
I think ill keep those hidden parts there, makes it more like a game. haha P.S. first one to 500 wins  |

A game hmm.. then in this game there should be ways to reduce others points or lower their rank. XD hehe force some strategy~ Also i would enjoy a nice backstab at 490 points XD make it more fun~

I can actually go in and change the number of points people have so we could do it that way, I dont know how we would set up the rules though.

If I've learned anything from my past forum experience with this game, is that it's often much better to take your time and make meaningful posts than just posting for the hell of a post count. Because that's what I used to do, and I won with around 5,000 posts >_> And I'd say looking back, at least half of them were garbage and not helpful. But damn, i want that black star. haha Though I personally think the system works slightly better with a +/- system to sort of balance it out, since it somewhat discourages people from posting spam. Though that sort of also adds the negative factor of fear that one is being viewed or judged negatively by their community. |
