Alum

Energy: Receptive.
Planet: Saturn.
Element: Earth.
Powers: Protection.

Magical Uses: Alum has been worn in Egypt as a protective amulet against evil. On the north coast of Africa, Alum is also used for this purpose. A piece of Alum is placed in the home to guard it, and small amounts of this mineral are sewn into or placed in children's hats to protect them as well.
