So, you all know this is a private forum, but with all the guest traffic (25 in the past 24 hours of this post) I was wondering if we should open a few boards to public and increase Membership. This is completely up to you guys.

Is it possible to select which topics can be viewed in whichever threads? I'm thinking some might not want their posts to be seen by everyone, but I don't know. Personally I don't care who sees what that I post. But it really depends on what kind of people you want visiting. If you're open to all and would like to keep it an open teaching environment, go for it. But be aware you will be opening it up to more negative feedback and skepticism from any corner of the web that searches. Not always a bad thing though, if the feedback is constructive. But the way the current system is, you pretty much already have a pretty good grasp on where everyone stands and their backgrounds. You know people on a more personal level, which I like, and personally like small communities. But I voted yes because I welcome the challenge of the unknown openly. ^_^ Let chaos reign supreme!!

I wouldn't mind as long as specific areas were closed off to guests.
Like when I post demonstration videos, the last thing I would want is random people I don't know to see them.

it is possible to create a entire section or single out a few of the boards to be viewed by others. i wasn't thinking about opening the entire community.

While I do think this is a good idea to do at some point, I think the board is still a bit too new to open up just yet. It can be discouraging for people looking for information to see boards without any yet. My suggestion would be to wait until we have a bit more information and sources built up for new people to really be able to get into it and feel the desire to contribute. Though for that to happen, we may need to be a little bit more active.

So as a counter measure i have another idea.. I could make a new board and the could "Graduate" to this one. If i did do this it would take a long time for me to start it and then longer to get it off the ground and i would need your guys help. and plus id make you all staff on the other forum.

I'm absolutely up for contributing. Would definitely be nice to have a bit more active community, and more people interested in learning to encourage everyone contributing to keep up with studies and stay sharp as teachers, while still learning themselves.

Hmm. Well I'm comfortable with being open. Considering others I think a guest area just for applications and questions would be considerate for both parties.

Okay, Matt and Michelle will be spear heading anything involving new members. In our new Public Forum Board they with be Moderators, and this is the only place guests can view. Saddly Guests can't post anything without registering so we will have to find a different way to talk to them.
